Ministries of the Church

The Mission of Seaside United Methodist Church is to reveal God in our living, loving and being by:

PROCLAIMING the Gospel of God's Grace and Mercy by service in our community and throughout the world

INVITING and WELCOMING others into our community of faith and

PROVIDING opportunities for worship, fellowship and spiritual growth

There are many ways that we fulfill our mission and seek to live out God's purpose for us.

 Bible Study

This study meets every Sunday at noon following the service and is DVD based.

Ecumenical Bible Study

This study meets every Tuesday morning (is open to all) from 10:30 a.m. to noon at Our Saviors Lutheran Church.  We study the lectionary scriptures for the coming Sunday.  Members of the Bible Study come from The United Methodist Church, the Lutheran Church (ELCA), the Presbyterian Church (USA), the Catholic Church and the Episcopal Church.

Coffee and Conversation

This informal group meets every Monday at 11a.m. at Bagels by the Sea. Join us as Pastor John leads a stimulating discussion on a variety of topics.

Music is an important part of our faith tradition as United Methodist and we carry on that tradition in our worship services.  We sing traditional hymns as well as more contemporary songs all of which help us to praise and worship God.

Our Adult Choir practices on Thursday nights at 7:00 pm at the Church. and sing in worship every Sunday. The choir takes a "summer break" in July and August, resuming in September.  We are in the planning stages of starting a children's and youth choir.  If you are interested, please call the church office.

This is a community of women whose purpose is to know God through Jesus Christ and then act out their faith through study and mission.  They have small group circles that meet once a month and a large group meeting the second Wednesday of the month at noon from September to May.

We strive to reach out into our community to spread the love of God through our words and our actions.  Some of the ways that we do this ----

Food Bank

We actively support the Food Bank through food donations, monetary support and volunteer hours.

Sunday Suppers

We support this community meal that takes place at Our Lady Of Victory Catholic Church on Sunday afternoons.  We also help take meals to shut-ins.

Hospital volunteers

We have many active volunteers at the hospital who bring the love of God to those who are hospitalized or who live in the Extended Care

United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR)

Through the larger United Methodist Church we support UMCOR as they provide relief to disaster victims all over the world.

We are an active part of the Oregon-Idaho Camping Program.  We send campers, deans and counselors to our camps especially at Camp Magruder, just 45 minutes south on Hwy 101.  We believe that camping is an wonderful way to connect kids and adults to God in nature.  For more information see our conference's website www.gocamping.org
